screeching noise?
I've been starting to notice a strange screeching noise. At first i thought it must have been someone else's car (wishful thinking
). But now it's clear that it's coming from my car. It seems to occur during acceleration before the car is fully warmed up. It doesn't seem to last more than 2 seconds.Any ideas? BACKGROUND: I just put some CD-2 stop-leak in the crank case w/some thicker oil. The engine has 198,000 miles and worn rings. (not sure if that has anything to do with it) thanks |

Re: screeching noise?
One of your belts could be loose. First check your alt. belt for deflection, if its loose than tighten it. It could also be your timing belt is loose, check it out.

Re: screeching noise?
CRX, thanks much. It was a loose belt. Had someone tighten it and haven't heard the noise since. I wish all of life's problems were as easy.
