The amp is 360 watts RMS at 2 ohms, so you will be underpowering that sub. Max on that amp is half the max on your sub. I'm guessing the RMS of your sub is somewhere around 800...so that amp falls short. Shoulda went a little bigger, you can always go bigger and if it's too loud just turn the amp down, but now your stuck with a low power amp that dosn't have the capability to run that sub at the power level it was designed for.
I once heard from a car audio guru that it is better to apply more watts to the sub than it is designed for and keep it on low than to underpower it and crank the amp as high as it goes, only to fall short. But I could be getting that screwed up, it's been awhile...

I've also heard that it's actually better for a sub to slightly over-power it than to underpower it...I don't know why, that's just what I was told.

Thats only a 360 watt amp. l_eclipse_l said something about the max being half the max of the sub. Yea on the box it says 800 max, but max means nothing. Max is made up BS to sell more amps. That amp will only do 360. Yea I would have went bigger but still it should sound decent. It won't be loud but it will be something to listen to.

Is that sub 2 or 4 ohm, single or dual voice coils? These are other factors you need to look into when choosing an amp. The one you bought is not stable at 1ohm so if your sub is dual 2ohm voice coil you will have to to run the amp at 4ohms and you will be getting even less power.

ok first off its always good to underpower a sub then overpower if u overpower u will have the sub distorted at low levels other words your car will sound like u have aluminum cans in it and my guy has that same amp pushing two rockford punch 800s and it hits hard. that sub he has is probly like 800 watts rms.if you need a bigger amp send me a pm i have a 1200 watt mono
