My brake lights are not working, I've changed the brake light switch, also the brake lights, checked fuses, hazard lights work, tail lights work....Any advice on how to solve this problem.

Re: Brake light problems
Changed a lot of parts but have you checked what is actually wrong, current in and out of the stop lite sw., current from the switch up to the signal switch and out? Please get used to posting the year also.

Re: Brake light problems
If you have a trailer brake setup, check the connector on the bottom of your rear bumper. Open up the cap and smell in there to see if its shorted out. Also try disconnecting it.

Re: Brake light problems
Fuse would blow if a short.
Get schematic and volt meter to trace the circuit. Off the top of my head; battery* > fuse > switch > lamps > ground * may be switched on with ignition but not likely ( I think brake light are constant feed on most american.) Diagnosis first then replace parts. |
