Help Needed

Hey, i was just trying to fix my car's timing problem the other day, and i was reading a forum on how to fix it. Basically it stated to open the passenger's side kick panel, and to find a green/white wire and a brown wire, then to bridge the connections. After that it said start the car up and loosen the distributor bolts, then adjust by "advancing" and "retarding" it. When i "advanced" it just a bit, the car was struggling and just shut off. Then i went in the car to start it again, but when i tried starting it, it wudint even start and you cudint hear the car's crank or ignition at all. The only thing it did when i turned the key was that all the lights in the cars gauge cluster wud light up and nuthing would happen. So i "unbridged" the connection in the passenger side kick panel, and tried doing it again but the same thing happened... does any1 know how to fix this problem?

Re: Help Needed

Sounds like something got disconnected accidentily in the process.
What you did wouldn't keep the engine from turning over, it should
still do that.
Go back and make sure all your connections are still good to the computer,
one may have come loose. And make sure your battery connections
are good, and the battery is charged.
Something else is wrong.

Re: Help Needed

noo i didnt use a timing gun and i tried estimating it, but all the connections are good, do u think it may be a blown fuse? because as soon as i turn the key the car doesnt even click the only thing that happens is that the hazard lights and all the other lights in the cluster go on
