cruise light

The bulb on my steering wheel mounted cruise controle has went out just wanting to now how do i change it. I have a 1998 mountaineer its the right side controle with set and resume that went out. I dont see any screws or anything just dont want to force it and break something. The help will be appreciated.

That "bulb" is an LED and not replaceable. You probably have to buy a whole new assembly, or get out the soldering iron and surface mount green LED.

It's actually quite rare for LEDs to burn out, so you may want to make sure that the illumination voltage is present.

I'm not sure though how the switch assembly comes out of the steering wheel though.

Hmm, the service manual implies that they use bulbs rather than LEDs like I thought, but I don't find any information on replacing the bulbs.
