CV Joint blown?
Yesterday my friends and I were leaving my neighborhood and all of a sudden it sounded like a rock had hit my car, I stopped, got out and looked around and no parts had fallen off, and there weren't any asshole kids around, so I kept driving. I was cruisin down the highway and I saw this guy get on who had a Mercedes, but at the time I thought it was just a civic ricer, so I flipped him off and blew by him. Yeah, turns out it was a mercedes, and he owned me. We were both going about 110 for like 5 miles and then I pulled over to the righthand lane and he just tore me a new one. He must have been going a buck 30. Anyway, I got smoked and felt like a huge tool. Later that night my car started this weird "knocking" sound when I would cut the wheel on a turn or backing out. I asked some guys at a pizza shop and they both said it was my CV joint. I have no clue what that is, so maybe someone around here knows what I'm talking about? They both said "I wouldn't go too fast, stay about 55 on the highway", I found that funny since I was doing double that 4 hours before.

Re: CV Joint blown?
Doesnt realy sound like a CV joint, I'd check the lower tie rod ends.
These tend to wear out and will make that poping noise you desrcibed. Check right behind the front wheels. Should have a rubber cap(half circle) covering the center part. Is it gone or wore down/cracked? Btw If it were to break loose, you couldnt steer the car ![]() I'd take a pic but my ol' lady took my camera to Talladega, like she'll take pics ![]() be carefull !

It realy should be checked regularly like every 20-30k miles just for wear-n-tear maintenance.

Re: CV Joint blown?
Ya I know that, but you still have ball joints and tie rod ends, uppers and lowers that can go bad.
Just something to keep an eye one.
