Idol keeps fluctuating

I have a 92 sc coupe and I had stopped to get something at the store, it was idoling fine then all of a sudden it started raising and dropping it would stay at 750rpm then dart up to 1500rpm??? I noticed that the rpm's would drop almost to 350 rpm, just after I started it a couple weeks ago, and immediatly return to normal. I paid no attention to it but now it's bothering me and I can't figure it out. What can I do?

The problem is solved by cleaning the throttle body and its applicable sensor and valve. You have mail.

Hi, i am having the same problem, and i was wondering exactly how you fix it.

The best way to fix it would be to take the throttle body off first.Then remove the idle air control valve and clean it and the throttle body.Most people use carburetor cleaner but i have had good luck with lacquer thinner.

I have a 98 sc. This morning when i went to start it the rpms were aat 1 like normally but then suddely dropped to 500 then 250 then just staled. After i get it warm its fine but once cold it happens again. From what i was reading in other post it sound like the same problem here. I was wondering if you had a picture of the throttle body for the 98. I think i found it in mine but it doesnt look the same as the one in the picture you posted.
