Newbie looking for help

Hi, i am totally new to this scene, fisrtly i am about to to get a car( i have previous driving experience so dont worry) and i am looking to get into the scene. So my questions are, where and when do u guys usually race (any place around New York City) what should i bring? What do you recommend me to do before and after getting into all of this? and maybe any of you can contact and help me or anything...

Me and all my friends hang out at Tompkins Park. Its over by Layfayette and Malcolm X BLVD Long Island.

We are always there on Friday and Saturdays mostly after 9 pm though. Everybody is real cool so come on up and talk to any of us...
