Noise on power locks

I have a 99 GCL. the power locks make an awful noise when they are used. Any suggestions on this? Almost sounds like a grinding noise.

Re: Noise on power locks

You're probably hearing just one or two. If they are making a loud noise the door lock actuators are going bad. They can't be fixed, only replaced. About $50 - $70 per door. (parts only)

Re: Noise on power locks

I thought i would chime in about my solution on the door locks. I had a tweeter go and searched google, i came across a site called www.jeeptweeter.com and by chance they also do door lock motors.. I purchased a rear hatch motor a month or so ago and it was not only cheaper than my dealer, i got it pretty fast.. give em a try,, they also gave me install instructions which included photos.. very helpful.. the tweeter was easy to figure out but the door locks can be a nightmare without the install instructions, that being said, i could have just gone out and bought the vehicle manual....anyway,, im rambling here...... just my 2 cents worth,, check em out..
