01 blazer trans, speedometer, abs problems
The transmission won't shift, the speedometer doesn't work, and the abs light is on. Does anyone know if by replacing the vss will that fix this or do you think its a computer problem.

Re: 01 blazer trans, speedometer, abs problems
Welcome to the forum!
The VCM is very substantial and rarely has issues. All of the things you mentioned, and the cruise control, (which probably doesn't work either) rely on the VSS for data. The SES light, (Service Engine Soon) should be illuminated also. The VSS sends data to the VCM and the data is made available for each system from the VCM. On 4WD vehicles, the VSS is located at the rear of the transfer case. On 2WD vehicles it is located at the rear of the transmission. The problem could be the sensor itself, or a problem in the circuits connecting it to the VCM. |
