P1565 code

I have a 2000 jetta 2.0, and it has a check engine light with the code:

P1565 - idle speed control lower limit not attained.

What could be the problem?

Also when i put in reverse (automatic), I have to gas it and it jerks at 2k rpm.. what could this be?

Thanks!!!!

Re: P1565 code

ITs common to have oil buildup in the intake on a 2.0L Buy some good throttle boddy cleaner. Warm your engine up, turn it off, and take the intake pipe off and clean the throttle plate. Have someone depress the gas pedal with the key on to open it up and get the inside clean. Put the intake pipe back on and start your car. It will have a hard time starting and when it starts it will run rough. Rev it up a little after it runs for 3-4 sec and rev it. After it runs better for a bout a min or so turn it off and do the same process. This will clean all the carbon off the throttle body and intake and intake valves.
