Engine Over-heating on my 99 3.8L

When I am driving the engine temp is normal. The broblem is when I am in stop and go traffic the my engine temp stars to over-heat. I did replace the engine temp switch that seemed to help a bit but not much. Note no engine or rad leaks It is not loosing any rad fluids. Any thoughts?

Are your fans kicking on when the temperature is that high? Do your fans kick on when you engage the AC? Coolant bottle filled to where it should be? Just hashing out some of the basics here.

As I said I check everything out and all worked as new. BUT it still overheated. I think I found the problem. When I changed my rad fluid I did not go 50/50 It looked like it was 85% rad fluid and 15% water once I thined the rad fluid to 50/50 it seems that my overheating was solved

Glad that you got that solved... I wouldn't go much more than 60 coolant and 40 water...

also if you have never done so you may be due for a new thermostat..
