Re: 1998 towncar window does not roll up

Is there any sounds associated with "when I try to roll it up" ?

Do you hear the motor running? Any grinding, popping or other noises?

We're trying to determine if the problem is the Regulator, the Motor, or the Electrical Switches.

Well, that sure sounds like dirty contacts inside the switch....
We had one guy here clean the contacts, it worked for awhile, then he had to replace the switch anyway.

Unfortunately, the drivers window has the switch assembly (unlike the other doors) that operates all windows. This switch is going to cost a bit more that the others would. With this in mind, you might want to check prices and then decide whether to dissect the old one first.
