Re: 72 f-100 gas tank

My dad had a 1972 F100 when I was a kid, he never liked the gas tank there either, he always felt like he was sitting on top of a bomb, eventually he sold it and bought a '77 F250 with the gas tanks bolted to the frame.

I have never done this conversion, but the easiest thing I can think of doing is getting a gas tank from the first year of F100's that had the tank bolted to the frame, then /cut/drill/weld/ whatever you need to to make it fit.

Then extend the wiring and fuel lines to mate up with original fuel lines and wiring, installing an electric fuel pump would probably help it start faster.

Now would be a good time to mount the spare tire inside the bed instead of hanging under the truck.
