Re: service engine soon light / knock sensor code
I also have the same problem on my 2000 5.3L! Had it before, but went away. Just replace the fuel pump, fuel filter, and injectors cleaned. Any help will be great. Just need to know how to test or what to do.

Re: service engine soon light / knock sensor code
Sorry it took so long to repost. I wanted to let you all know what the deal was with the knock Sensors. I took in my truck agian after I had my truck in the shop after the Fuel pump, fuel filter and injectors cleaned the Check engine light came on. This time the dealer changed both knock sensors. The one on the rear bank was very corroded. He was telling me that the engine tilts toward the rear of the truck so if you wash your engine a lot then the water will sit toward the rear knock sensor and eventually eat it's way though the grommet. He replaced the sensors and put in RTV to prevent it from happening again. Hope this helps.
