V6 Celica?

one of my friends was talking about he MR2 and how you can put a v6 3ZV-FE in it. So i'm wondering...

since the MR2 had a 3S in it and so does the Celica(90-93) would the 3VZ-FE fit? I just think that would be kinda cool. A V6 Celica All-Trac or GT-4 for those lucky enough to have it. Just my thoughts.

Re: V6 Celica?

that particular 6 would be pointless in a 3S-GTE car. It makes less power and weighs more.

In essence, the mid 80's to mid 90's Camry was a 4 door celica, so I don't see why a Camry motor wouldn't fit (without some modification to the mounts) in a Celica.

Re: V6 Celica?

A lexus V8 will slip in nicely, but would only be RWD.

Re: V6 Celica?

Hi Steven.

This is actually possible, its not easy but its possible.
I should know as im the only person to have done it ...yet.

Contrary to what some people may say regarding the 3vz-fe, its not an underpowered or particularly heavy engine, in fact its quite a powerful unit with 100% of its available torque from just 2000 rpm almost to 5400 rpm, it makes for a good driving experience.

The full and ongoing story is available at celicatech.com along with a writeup, tech info and videos of this car that i built last year.

If you want further info, contact me at :[email protected] and ill try to answer your queries.
