2003 Impala oil light comes on and then off

Have a 2003 Impala here. Recently noticed that the oil light comes on right after I start the car. This is after all the lights come on and then go off and getting the OK signal after the engine is running. Stays on for about 3 seconds and then goes away. It only comes on when the car is cold... once warmed up, all is ok. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Saif

It sounds like the oil pressure switch is going bad. As long as the engine isn't making bad noises when the light comes on (indicating low oil pressure), I would say it's nothing to worry about.

if its the oil sign with a wrench on the message center and it chimes three times you just have to reset the oil life through the radio
