best way to hook all this audio up
i have a 95 talon that i want to put all my stuff into but not sure about the best way to do it. i can hook up a single system (amp, radio, cap , subs)
the problem is that i have 2 amps( 1=1,000watts 2= 560watts,) 2-1 frad caps, 2 12"subs(1400watts each) ,2 10" subs ( 750watts total), 2 6" subs(300watts each), 2 crossovers, two teeters, 2 4" mids and stock tweeters and mids. not sure if i should hook them up as seperate systems of some how connect them( bridge them as one. any idea would be great thanks |

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
Why in the hell would you want to put all of that in a Talon? I could see an SUV, but the Talon is wayy too small for all that stuff. If I was you, I'd hook up the 1000 watt amp to the 10's, put your tweeters in place of the stockers up front, and upgrade the stock speakers all the way around. That will give you a nice sound without over-doing everything.

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
thats not half as bad as my civic, i am pushig 2500watts out of that.
right now the 2-12's, the 1000 watt amp , one cap, 2 6's, the cross overs, the 2 mid and the 2 tweeters are in my neon. but i am fixing the talon and i am moving it all over from the neon and have the other stuff laying around. i like the set up and sound in the neon but want more. the talon has a little more room to play with then the neon. i am going to put the 2 mids in the front doors, the two 6's will replace the rear and put the tweeters in the rear with the two 6's,and keep factory tweets in the front, just want two see what i can do with the two amps, the 2-12's and 2-10's. i love bass, and like it loud the harder it hits the happier i am. just want to see if i should run two lines from bat with the two caps or just run one line from bat to the two caps or just one cap to two amps. |

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
I would either run a 1/0 from the battery, or run two 4 gauge wires, one to each amp. You're going to need one hell of a battery though to power all that shit (I suggest optima yellow top), and you might want to look into upgrading the alternator too.

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
i probably will run the two wire to the two cap's then from each cap run that to the amps, cap's will help with the bat and alt problems. if its to much then i always can take an amp and subs out.

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
Exactly....2 wires would be better than one. Just make sure you run the power wires on the opposite side of the car than the RCA outputs, you don't want any radio interference in those RCAs.

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
yeah , before i put the talon in the shop for the new tranny i started to run the wiring for one amp. i put the battery wire under the capet on the drives side and ran the rca's and remote under the center console, i will probably run the other bat line under the pass side carpet.wires run cleaner and easier in the talon then the neon.

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
also , is there anything i need to know about the talons, when i got the car the radio was taken out and the rears are 6x9's. i got the wiring diagram off of the12volt.com but is there any stock amps that i should know about or any problems i may have installing new speakers and head unit?

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
Some of them came with factory Infinity amps, but that was just a fraction IIRC. You have an ESI right? I don't think they usually came with them.

Re: best way to hook all this audio up
I run a single FUSION POWER PLANT FP-1200 watt 12" sub and a legacy 1000 watt 2-channel amp and trust me..1000 watts out of a single 12" subwoofer in a eclipse is more than enough bass to please ones bass cravings...anything more and you won't be able to hear yourself think. Open ended cars like civic hatch and eclipes and what not sound terrible with too many subs and too much bass coming out..i'd at least like to know I am still driving instead of having every sensory system being hammered by bass...just my two cents.
