2002 montana, having issues with the Rear windows, no power to the back windows and the locks will not work from inside the van, they work off the remote and from the outside but not when inside the vehicle. Not exactly sure what to do...anybody have any ideas I would appreciate it...

Re: montana rear windows and locks

My starting points would be a blown fuse or bad switch for the windows and a bad switch for the door locks.

Re: montana rear windows and locks

I checked the fuse and the switch but still no go, going to check the fuse panel and see if there is a wire that is rotted off in there, Thanks for the advice.Any idea why the locks would not work from the inside but do work from the remote?... Thanks

I wonder if the wires for the quarter windows run in the floor rocker panel / channel that causes difficulties for the locks and power windows...you know, rotted wires and connectors....?

As an '02, this van is the right age for this to be a root cause as well.

Don't know the color coding on the quarter windows, but it wouldn't hurt to include this in the investigation...

Jen,

The Body Control Module (BCM) has several INPUTS to control the locks - Buttons on the doors, Remote, and even the door cylinders (try turning and HOLDING the key in both directions).

If just the buttons on the doors are NOT working, there is probably a wiring problem OR one of the switches is going bad.

I have some information on the following page that might help. Just look for the links that have to do with the locks.

Chevy Venture Information (same as the Montana)

Take Care,
