1988 S-10 Service Engine Soon Light
Hi, My Husband Just Got A 1988 S-10 Pick Up Truck (for A Summer Truck, Gets Much Better Mileage Then The 4x4 Sierra) It Only Has 71,000 Miles On It. It Is Only A 4 Cylinder. There Is A Problem, The Service Engine Soon Light Is On. The Guy That He Bought It From Said The Light Never Came On Until The Kid That Works For Him Changed The Oil. Does That Make Sense? If So What Can We Check To See About Getting It Fixed?? Thanks

Re: 1988 S-10 Service Engine Soon Light
Well it is hard to say about that.
If you want to fix it get code read or ground pin A to pin B on the diagnostic connector and count the long and short check engine light flashes and post back the no of longs and shorts or code no.

Re: 1988 S-10 Service Engine Soon Light
The changing of the oil may not be related.
Check to see if you have the proper weight oil in it first Check to see it has been filled to the proper hight on the dip stick (that may sound funny but it has happened) Then go from there and tell us what you find. Is it running normaly? Does it act the same? |
