Engine Rattling At High RPM At Speed
When i give it gas to pass a car or accelerate up a hill while doing anything over 40, i get a rattling coming from the engine. I heard it might be a ball bearing, or a belt.
It sounds like a bearing. Just curious if anyone else experienced the same thing, and what it was.

My 2001 LS v/8 has a fuel ping that could be described as a rattle. Mine happens at lower speeds with load and easy throttle though. I only use 91 octain and two dealers can't find anything wrong.
It seems to be better with the summer fuel mix. Could also be the California gas. Last edited by PBateman; 04-26-2007 at 10:35 PM.
