'96 3.1 "M" question on LIM

Are the new intake manifold bolts for the "J" & "E" engines (P/Ns 11588914 & 11588915) for the "M" engines also?

Re: '96 3.1 "M" question on LIM

no, they are different. The intake bolts do not have to be replaced on these engines (nor do they on the Vin-E and Vin-J engines). GM recommends replacing the bolts because the new ones have pre-applied threadlock on them. If you clean the old bolts with a wire wheel/brush, and re-apply the threadlocker, you can re-use the old bolts. They are not torque-to-yield like some head bolts are. For reference, the 4 outer short bolts for your engine are 11515757, and GM no longer shows a part number for the 4 long inner bolts for some odd reason.
