Re: quick release

also something thats im my future...though not for a while.

I happen to be partial to Momo steering wheels. You do pay a little more for the brand name, but theyre great quality and feel, and look good too. Feel is the most important thing for me...and you just cant beat real leather...

maybe something all black or black and aluminum...personally i tend to avoid the bright red or blue "ricey" looking ones. But to each his own man. since your car is red, red and black wouldnt look too bad

or you could go with a fancy one like this.

Re: quick release

cool, has anyone ever changed there steering wheel? i remember i tried to change a friends once but he had an airbag and i was too scared to change it, because fear of the air bag deploying!

the stock steering wheel is alright but when i bought my car it was already tore up pretty badly. also i wanna get a quick release for security reasons. i would like to take my steering wheel off everynight because my car sits on the street ( i hate parking my car on the street).

but thanks for all the links.

do you have to get a steering wheel that will fit your car, or are they all universal? hub? what size is the stock steering wheel? cause i see different sizes like 300mm - 350mm.

Re: quick release

You will have to get a adapter usually nopi or summit somthign like that will have them. As far as airbag i've herd that disconecting the battary *atleast postive* and removing the fuse to be double safe would be ok on most cars as for a 3/S specific i dont know give it a try and hang low

Re: quick release

I recently changed out my steering wheel, i put in a Grant GT steering wheel, i used a 94 Eclipse hub adapter and installation kit since Grant dont make any for the 3KGT.....and i didnt find that out until AFTER i bought the wheel, took it out of the box, n threw the box and recipt away....and now i keep recipts to everything lol. and grant also makes the quick release too, but use a 90-94 Eclipse hub adapter and installation kit, most ppl like Momo, make them i think for our cars, but you will pay out ur ass for it, my wheel was only like $110 and the installation kit was $22, thats better than the high priced Momo brand, but i have to agree Momo IS better, look and feel wise. You can order the hub adapter kit from Auto Zone and it will be there next day ready for pick up, hope i helped u a little bit. l8r
