v6 Cherrybomb
On a 2.8, does a cherrybomb/glasspack sound allright. I'm looking for a way to make my car you know.....not sound like rolling $hit. It sounds okay at an idle, but when revved, it sounds like a lawn mower almost. It has a muffler mounted transversely behind the rear axle, with one inlet and two outlets. I know it's pretty much fscked up too, and there's probably an exhaust leak cause at an idle i hear a slight. pop-pop-pop. Would the glasspacks sound good since it's a 60* block? If that doesn't, where can i find a muffler that makes it rumble like a v8? I can't find anything for this year/motor on Magnaflow's website.

Re: v6 Cherrybomb
Its never going to sound like a v-8. Most people like the way flowmaster exhaust sounds. Personally i think they sound better quiet. They draw less attention from people that way.

I prefer the "stealth" approach myself. Some setups that give that give the "throaty rumble" are OK too, but those really loud, rapping, raspy-sounding setups are crap, IMO. Why the heck would anyone want to draw that much attention to themselves? Hey!! Look at me, pleeeease write me a ticket.... |
