Window/Dome light

I have a 2000 CV. The drivers side window will not work, when you push the button you hear a clicking sound. Also, even when the car is off and all the doors are closed, the interior lights just turn themselves on and off. Any one have any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Window/Dome light

Some cars with the loaded up features have that option..

When you lift the outside door handle does the light come on?

or do the headlights stay on for a few minutes after you get out the car?

Is your car a police interceptor?

Re: Window/Dome light

if you push down on the window does it go down some? sounds like you have a broken cable on your window regulator

Re: Window/Dome light

The light does come on when I pull the handle, and the headlights stay on for about 2 min when I get out of the car. It was never a police interceptor.

Re: Window/Dome light

It sounds like an LX or Sport package. If you look at the headlight switch there are four settings, from Left to right - Headlight Time Delay, Off, Parking Lights, Headlights. Setting the healight switch to the 2nd from the left setting will shut them off.
For the window,if you hear a clicking or whirring sound the motor may still be good but the cable regulator is probably broken and the cable is bound up tight. You will probably need a new regulator assy, which avalable seperate from the motor if I remember correctly. If you don't feel you can fix it yourself, most glass shops will do it for about 150.00. Hope this helps.

Re: Window/Dome light

I almost forgot, the door handle dome light thing can be disabled, I don't have the manual for that year, but I know that the BCM programming for some features was in the owners manual. I'll scrounge around for a manual but if you access to one that may help.
