1990 civic

i just got this car and the rear driver side door does not open what do i do to get it open without destroying the car because i cannot seem to get the door panel off with the door shut and im kinda new to honda's had one before but anyways any help would be great thanks

Your probably gonna have to find some way to cut the door panel and access the latch. One of the metal bars leading to the lock probably just got disconnected, you need to pull on it to unlock the door.

i was hopeing to just use a slim jim to pop it open from the out side but idk how the insides of the door work so i think ill have a problem there too

There are two metal bars that lock and unlock the door, I have a feeling one of those either fell of or broke in your case.

are you talking about the ones that are on the inside of the door in those pictures or the outside my door is alittle different than the one you sent it has the manuel locks at the top of the door

get a metal shim, push it down inline with the locking mechanism, and just push it down.

keep stabbing until you hit the metal pole that is connected to the lock/latch and it will pop open. make sure you unlock the door, and that the lock is working.

i work at a junk yard and have to open doors all the time that are smashed in (the regs inside all busted up). and i cant ruin a mint door panel. migh take some time, but thats what it takes

call junk yards and price out a new door panel. it might be cheap, and then you can just rip that slut off and get your door open.
