ufc

so i was watching UFC 70: nations collide (or whatever the title was), most of the fights were really good (the arlovski fight wasnt very eventful).

anyways i was wondering if anyone knows what the stuff they put on the fighters face before the fight is and why they do it. it looks like petroleum jelly.

Re: ufc

It is petroleum jelly, when I used to box the cutman would put it on your face to make your skinny slippery so that when you got hit a few times the skin wouldn't cut open right away.

Re: ufc

Re: ufc

Gabriel Gonzaga...and I was shocked as well. Was it just me, or did it seem to anyone else that CroCop was contemplating not fighting anymore after that fight. Maybe he was still in a daze...

Re: ufc

No that’s just his style. I think most athletes from the eastern bloc countries are very subdued like that. No jumping around, screaming, doing back flips like we’re use to in the US.

Re: ufc

Sorry for digging up the old thread but whats going on in the UFC world today?!!

Couture retires because UFC mistreats him and because Fedor signed with M-1 for millions. There is no lightweight nor heavyweight champ in the UFC right now...

Chuck Liddell has lost twice and so has Mirko CroCop...

No one can beat Anderson Silva...

Insanity!

Re: ufc

Excellent summary.

Can't wait for that Hughes/Serra fight.
