I plan on buying my 1st car
the car is a 98 mustang its got about 100,000 miles on it its a 6 cylinder 3.81 liter engine the person selling it says the piston rings are worn and need to be replaced the car runs he says but it burns up about a quart of oil a week wit "normal use" my question is how much it would cost to take it in to get the rings replaced and such? thanx for the help

It would depend on who does the work. Call a garage and ask the question, or do you plan on doing it?

How does he know its the rings? My money says its valve seals.
