Cowl Induction Hood

I recently smacked up the front end of my truck, a very sad day indeed.

Truck is in the shop now.

The hood needs to be replaced. I want the cowl induction type hood.

Any recommendations for manufacturers?

And do I get steel or fiberglass?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Cowl Induction Hood

I've heard good things about the Reflexxion, and they're steel.

Re: Cowl Induction Hood

I've actually heard bad things about reflexxion hoods. I've heard they sometimes don't fit quite right and are a bit cheap, such as closing the hood and having the middle of the hood folding in on you.

I've heard good things about goodmark and keystone. They might be more expensive, but you always get what you pay for, especially in the aftermarket truck scene.

Re: Cowl Induction Hood

if you can get the steel one then go for it. Theres less hassle in the prep work on it before it gets painted. I had a quite a bit of glass hoods on my camaros and its nothing like having a steel hood.

Re: Cowl Induction Hood

I've decided not to go with the aftermarket hood. The HD hoods are different than the "normal" silverado hoods. Could not find a steel, true "HD" hood with the cowl induction.

Even if I did, if it didn't fit right and / or it came in damaged, it would dely me in getting my truck back.

My truck should be ready in a few days.

Thanks for the help.
