Warm air not very hot and gets colder the more I increase the blower speed.
Pipe into matrix is hot, pipe out is warm but quickly gets cold when blower is on. Would rad flush clear a matrix blockage or is it due to a weak internal pump. The main water pump was replaced when I had the head gasket done. Prior to the work I did have rad weld in the system to try and solve the gasket problem. AIR CON Worked although very cold at start and took a while to get really cold. Now does not work at all - although shows icon on climate control, no noise is heard when this is switched on (previously had a noise). Check relay and fuse in footwell and fuse in engine bay (all ok). Is there another fuse or is it likely to be a failed compressor due to lack of gas? |

Re: Leganza Hot/Cold Air
plugged heater core. Daewoo had a problem with corrosive antifreeze that eats everything including the internal components of the engine. I have seen dissolved freeze plugs, head gaskets, and fins eaten off waterpumps.
Possible bad compressor. Have seen a few but not many. Make sure you are getting power to the compressor.

Re: Leganza Hot/Cold Air
Heater has improved since flush , but not as hot as a Ford or Vauxhall heater - I'll live with it (Southern UK not very cold winters)
Air con - consultation fee £50 - worst case £700 + for new compressor, but since the car's only worth about £1200 in UK, I won't get anything else as cheap similar age (2000) and spec (CDX-E) I will probably get it fixed. Thanks for your reply |
