motor swap

**1998 Silh-3.4L VIN E 207**
Last year my 98 silh cam shaft broke in half. i purchased everything to rebuild the motor only to find out that the block was shoot. so my question is... I found a 2000-2003 3.4L VIN E motor out of a silh and I need to know if i can put this motor in my 1998? I just want to make sure all the holes will line up.

History on the old block: when the cam shaft broke it elongated the cam bearing channel and the cam bearing will slide in and out using your fingers. Now the block is crap or so i am told. Can this be fixed? welded? or something else?

i am currently stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany so i have limited resources here.
