Transmission won't shift into gear

My 97 Legnum auto transmission went out last night. It won't shift into any gear. The fluid level is ok. The linkage is ok. When I shift into R or D, I hear an electrical buzz for about 3 seconds around the linkage area and then it quits. Any ideas?
