I have a 92 Olds 98 Regency Elite that my grandma gave me 3 or 4 years back. It has been well serviced and was only garage kept. Ever since my taking of it, it has been serviced regularly but tons of miles put on it and as what would happen with any 15 year old car, things start to break.
Here are my problems and I was wondering if I could get some help on them. Problem #1: The ABS light and Traction Control Light come on almost every time I drive the car and when they do come on I feel a little jolt in the brakes. #2: The Low Coolant light comes on but there is not any low coolant. The radiator and the reservior are full. #3: Windshield wipers work randomly and when they do, they only work on the highest level #4: The AC works except only on the passenger side. It blows hot air on the drivers side #5: Very randomly and also not very often does this happen but my car simply will not start. Give it about 15-20 minutes and it'll will start up perfectly. I have no idea why. Thanks for anyones future help |

Re: 92 Olds 98 Problems, Help Please
ok lets see if i can help u out here i have a 91 regency, 1st i had the same problem with the anti lock brake light- my rear brake shoes where adjusted to tight to the drum and when the car sat the rear shoes bonded to the drum causing a clunk when u moved the car-to fix the problem remove rear wheels and drum and adjust the adjusting nut at the bottom of the brake shoes, so the nut turns in instead of pushing the shoes out against the drums
second either u have a bad temp sensor, or the sensor has crud build up on the end off it, pull out the sensor if its clean replace it, if its full of crud clean it off and see it the light goes off... 3rd just replace the wiper motor, motors going bad 4th sounds like the servo rod has come loose, passenger servo is working properly, to find the servo rods pull out the glove box and the plastic panel under the dash board then u should be able the see the metal rods that connect to the servo, what they do is close and open a door to the heater core where u get your heat, and close the doors when u turn on the a/c to cut the heat off from entering into the car, if u need help on this email me @ [email protected] and 5th- had this problem also, 1st check the wires to the starter and silineod, on mine the started had a dead spot in and had to replace, started is located on the front on the engine just right of the center of the engine good luck |
