The girl done good!

Here's what Fly's little  got for me from HK. Before anyone asks the reason for so much tape is coz i get through it quite quickly and its too expensive here. Similarly with the compound and wax, you cant get it here so after hearing good reports about them on the forum i'd thought it was best to get enough supply!

The kits - The Aoshima Skyline is a great little kit from what i've seen. The interior is nicely detailed considering it was originally a motorized kit. My intention is to make it into the car on GT2 - possibly my favourate in that game! The difference is that the game version is blue - does anyone know if it was an actual car raced? Anyone have refference pics of interior too?

The Fujim Veilside MR-S is not so great, the proportions are wrong in places and a few small details are incorrect but nothing to cry about! The plan with that is to make RJ De-vera's car below - I heard a rumour its going to be in F+F2.

HLJ order -

These came from HLJ today which was a surprise coz they were shipped 2 days after a previous order that hasn't arrived yet. I've wanted the Aoshima Blitz Z1's for ages so i though i'd check out Fujimi's version while they were in stock. I'm not impressed with them and i think i'm going to stop buying their 17"s altogether coz they look too weedy and pathetic! Aoshima on the other hand have done good again, those rims are amongst the new sets they recently released.

There's more goodies on the way too which i'll post as they arrive - look out for one of my bodykit projects being re-born too!!!

I hear you brother...I just got my shipment from HLJ, and I like the Aoshima Materasse rims and the VeilSide Andrew Racing Dish, but the Enkei RP-F1, the Enkei ES-Tarmac and the Blitz Techno Speed rims are all too damned small! I simply do not need nor want any more 16/17" rims, and the companies are not very clear as to what size the rims actually are. These rims even look small on the Auto EXE Miata MX5 roadster kit that was in the shipment...that's a cool model with a revised front end and rollbar and some decent BBS rims.

Little Angel

Fly,
You might be pleased to know that the red version of the car, which you have, is also in the game GT2. I was very disappointed when I found that it wasn't in GT3. I also wanted the Alfa 155 in GT3, but noone ever listens to my suggestions.

Chris,
Since you are always bragging about the girl too, how about a photo of her too
Perhaps I should send my wifey to you for some training? Would you be willing to help?

Ray

Chris, I've never seen hide nor hair of the blue Silhouette Skyline outside GT2. I think it was one other their 'no-one-will-remember-this-car,-so-we-won't-get-in-trouble-for-tweaking-the-scheme-a-bit' ploys. Ray's right, the proper red version wa in the game, too. It's like the Castrol Supra from GT, remember the red/blue version instead of the red/green? Since when does Castrol = red & blue?

Hey Chris next time your lady goes to HK give me a shout as I've been after some Tamiya compound and wax for ages and not been able to find it anywhere
At the moment I use Autoglym stuff (Hell if it's good enough for Aston Martin then I think it'll do for my models!!)
But hearing everyone raving about the Tamiya stuff makes me want to try it!!

Aoshima S Parts Wheel Size

First post... :alien2: wuhu!!!

Anyway, I'm about to get some Aoshima S Parts wheels too and was just wondering what size is the one that you got there.

I've heard that most of Fujimi's are 17". Are Aoshima's the same in general (when no size listed) or are they bigger? Or are you guys just cross your fingers when buying them online and hope they're > 17"?
