2000 bravada thump

i have a 2000 bravada..when turning in either direction, pulling into parking spots, backing up etc, my truck seems to "jump" it almost stops the vehicle. feels almost like a gear jump, but i dont think it is any ideas???. Also, when at a complete stop ill go to take off with average accel. and it doesnt seem like it is in gear all the way then a second later i can feel it engage, any ideas on this please help...i dont want to be screwed at a dealer...i was thinking power steering pump on the way out or something or possible tranny fluid needs to be changed?

Re: 2000 bravada thump

I would look at the transfer case - change the fluid and make sure its the newer blue GM syn fluid (dealer only). The full time and autotrac cases have clutch packs and they start to bind. GM bulletin on this and says change the 2 qts of blue, run 100 miles, change 2 qts again and hope all is well. This assumes the CVs are not ripped and binding.

Sounds like a good place to start...the CV's dont appear to be ripped. Where exactley do you drain the transfer case and where is the fill...is this something easilly done in my driveway, or do i need the dealer to do this?
