A brand-new 1/20 F1 kit, anyone?

For the younger modelers, it might not mean much, but Fujimi is releasing 1/20 scale Ferrari 126C2 1982 San Marino GP version in June, reasonably priced at 3675 yen.
Let's wait and see how Fujimi handle it with their 3D CAD/CAM technology. They can't screw up because F1 modelers are very picky.

That's great news, and I've pre-ordered mine on HLJ!

And don't miss the Fujimi 330 P4 re-release there either - it's possibly the best-looking sports car ever made.

Regards
Graham

Re: A brand-new 1/20 F1 kit, anyone?

I am sure it would be a great news to modelers, especially those whose love old F1 series.

It seems that Fujimi is very aggressive in extending new product line and can seen by the improvement on the technology which in return with impressive models nowadays, therefore, the new Fujimi F1 series would be an impact to the market.

I would love to see more like the 1/20 Ferrari "T" series from them in the coming future.

Maybe the rumours about ex-Tamiya staff going to Fujimi is true!!!

It's really a nice news, I hope Fujimi could do some decent jobs on the kit, I think none of us are expecting a curbside 126C2.

Yeah we've been discussing it over on f1m. I pre-ordered the 126C2 and the 330P4 yesterday. I have no problem taking a chance on Fujimi.

Mike.

Re: A brand-new 1/20 F1 kit, anyone?

Interesting turn of events w/Fujimi getting into the 1/20 scale F1 business. They'll be under the microscope on this one, I hope they do it right. I have no desire to build modern F1 cars, but I like this vintage Ferrari.

Anyone know what is new or different about the upcoming Fujimi 330 P4 vs. the previous reissue? The price went up a good bit, other than that I'm wondering if it's a straight reissue or perhaps a different paint scheme, or a "deluxe" kit w/ PE??

I was wondering just the same thing. This reissue has also new kit number, so there might be some differences. Maybe a spyder version? Previous kits already included some PE parts, so i don't think it is a "deluxe" version, but who knows.

Nice to see new F1 kit, specially this classic Ferrari.

I was curious so here's a link to pictures of the car...

Not a bad looking car at all.

This is 'HUGE' news to any Gilles Villeneuve fans like me out there. I've pre-ordered a few of them.

My jaw is on the floor and I suddenly feel a twinge of guilt for getting Dad the Protar 1/24th 126C2 for his birthday.

Fujimi, not only must you not screw this up, but you MUST give the world a Sharknose! SHARKNOSE DAMNIT!

Re: A brand-new 1/20 F1 kit, anyone?

Very interesting and exciting news. Unlikely I'll be buying one as I already have the 1/12th Protar kit unbuilt in my stash. But I certainly wish Fujimi every success with this new venture and hope that it will lead to more classic F1 releases in the future. Bravo Fujimi!

Well there's already a great 1/20 sharknose, actually

I also own the 1/12 revell protar stuff, that isn't so bad and allow people to have fun with lathe and mill, I ever though to keep a 1/20 (126C,C2,C4 are my preferred F1 ever) since I seen a friend with a fabulous (guess S27?) 126C2 with the whole alu chassis milled down. For the price I guess Fuji stuff wuld be curbside, but I'll happy to be in wrong
