Magnaflow system too quiet

I got a Magnaflow catback system...the one w/out the Magnapacks....
It's too quiet!

I know I can't just put 'packs into the regular catback. My current mufflers are offset/offset and the 'packs are center/center.

Looking for some 'crackle' when I get on it and when 'coastin' '.

Any suggestions??? Thanks

Re: Magnaflow system too quiet

The series 40 have a deep throaty sound that only Flowmaster has. They have a distinct sound. Sounds like you want a quieter sound so they miight not be for you the series 50 might be the ones your looking for.

Re: Magnaflow system too quiet

I know in one of the Mustang mags a few years ago they had a muffer shoot out, and Flowmaster were at the bottom of the list for power, and noise(too much), and Magna's were the quitest, and made the most power. For me that is a win win situation

Just by the design it's pretty obvious which is going to outflow which. Flowmaster chambers(or just chambered mufflers in general) choke up the exhaust and straight through mufflers flow very well. I was talking to the guy that welded my cut out's in and he said he tested somthing like 87 different mufflers on his Cobra and he had the best results with Magnapacks. I don't know how he came to that concusion since he had to of dyno'ed them on days with different weather but whatever.

Re: Magnaflow system too quiet

I hope my car gets quiet when I weld up the new exhaust. Right now I have a little over 3 feet of open 3.5" down pipe. I have a Magnaflow straight thrue with 3.5" inlet and dual 3" outlets and 3" LX style tail pipes to weld up. Hope its quiet when I'm done!

Re: Magnaflow system too quiet

I want to hear that thing. When I get the money to finish my car, I will use the same parts, except I will be going through a single 4" exhaust.
