Question ABS Light...

Hey guys;
I'm coming over here from the eclipse/talon/laser sections for my ex g/f. She has a 2000 Cavalier auto. The ABS light has come on before out of nowhere, but by turning the car on and off, it's gone away.

Today it turned back on, and now its not going off. I did some searching here and learned that the wiring has been know to actually crack. Is that correct? I should take it in to get scanned to find out which side it is. I've seen it could also be the ABS ECU or the connector to the sensor. Basically from what I read, it's usually not the sensor though. Is this a correct?

The brakes work fine and it stops good. Haven't had water or anythig to test ABS. Is this something that I should be worried about? Let me know. Thanks!!
