Engine Noise in Radio

Hi All,

Great forum. I've been doing a lot of reading here lately. I hope someone can help with this.

93 Regal Gran Sport, 60K. I just recently bought it from my mom. It has the OEM stereo with cassette and equalizer. It has a lot of engine noise (buzzing) in the stereo. I've replaced the plugs, plug wires and alternator. The noise is still there. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: Engine Noise in Radio

Were the plugs replaced with the proper resistor spark plugs? Are the new wires seated properly on the plugs and on the coil ends? Any gap causes the spark to jump and results in motor noise inthe radio. good luck

Re: Engine Noise in Radio

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I installed the proper resistor plugs and wires. And as I said before, I've also tried a new alternator. Since then, I've checked and cleaned every ground I could easily get to and disconnected the power antenna to isolate it from the stereo, but the noise is still there.

I guess I'll continue by checking the grounds that aren't so easy to get to.

Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.
