Bearing play question

I diagnosed my wheel bearing being bad due to a vibration that got louder as speeds increased and play in my rear drivers side wheel. I noticed this holding in the 9 and 3 and 7 and 1ish. I took off the spindle and took it to Toyota to get the bearing replaced:

65 for bearing
157 for labor

While I was in there, I noticed the inner CV boot was damaged, so I replaced it with a remaned axle.

I got it all back together and have a vibration that is stronger and an even more noticeable play in the wheel (9,6 and 7,1). I looked all around and shook everything(strut, tie rod, part with the spherical bushing) and got nothing. Am I left with just geting on Toyota's case for failing the wheel bearing install? Or, is there anyway that it could miracously be the ball jount(no play from 12,6)

Please help because there is nothing worse than giving Toyota overinflated labor costs to have the exact same bearing problem.

Re: Bearing play question

How did you decide which bearing it was?

From what I have exprienced, bearing noise does not get louder with speed.
It gets louder when turning one direction and quieter when turning the other direction.

Re: Bearing play question

Put the car on a lift with 1 person jiggling and two people looking. Saw some movement in the ball joint. I am going to try that and see where I stand.
