Video in Power Point

If anyone out there is especially knowledgeable about Microsoft Power Point, might there be a way to embed video into a presentation? I see where you can add video from your hard drive but I want to load a YouTube video (this video)

Or if there's a way to save the video to my hard drive that would be great too. I need to secure an A in this class so I'm tryna get fancy as possible in our group presentation tomorrow.

Re: Video in Power Point

I believe YouTube has a link as an option to embed the video. Try that. It's possible that Powerpoint may not respond to the html code though.

Here was the embed code for that video...

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QdmznxwjjnU"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QdmznxwjjnU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Re: Video in Power Point

I wanted to embed but it didn't work. You can't use the insert picture function because it automatically prompts you to select a file from the HD. I wonder if there's a way around it

Re: Video in Power Point

imbedding a link from YouTube would require a high speed internet connection to be available ever tim you want to play it. lots of video grabbers for pulling the vid off web and saving it to your hard drive.

Re: Video in Power Point

Our classroom has wireless but we're running the presentation off my prof's laptop. Any names of these programs you know of that are quality?

Re: Video in Power Point

Like mentioned, there are a few Firefox extensions that will enable you to save the video. However, it will be in .flv format which you might be hardpressed to get to play in Powerpoint, it will need to be converted to something playable. There in lies the hard part. Do a little research on converting .flv videos and I'm sure you will find something you can use.
