Biggest/Safest Twin Turbo Setup for VR4
I always hear about the 15g turbos being upgraded on vr4's being the biggest setup and being able to boost well over 23psi but Ive always wondered whats the biggest and safest twin turbo setup you could have on these cars, with the correct accomodated fuel upgrades, right air/fuel setup, and necessary mods. Just in case we all won the lottery and wanted to have that 1 really quick vr4 in their garage that put murcielago's to shame.

With the proper amount of mone anything is possible.. So who knows
Also are we talking bout TD04 based turbos or just any turbo... When i was 3si the other day 19t seem to be the love of td04 based turbos.

Re: Biggest/Safest Twin Turbo Setup for VR4
what do you mean by "safest"??
anything can be done with enough money. as far as not blowing your engine, the safety/huger power is all in the tune.

Re: Biggest/Safest Twin Turbo Setup for VR4
There's really no "safest turbo". All turbos have the same function, they compress more air into your cylinders. Now as far as being safe for your engine all depends on how you use the turbo, how you tune your car, and what kind of condition your engine is in etc. Now if your wanting to use a turbo that uses the stock housing that requires basically no extra work other than just replacing turbos, the biggest replacement is the 19T, however I still like the DR650R's for some reason. They're both available from dynamic racing. Basically after those two you will have modify other parts of your car. Other things I recommend doing as well when upgrading turbos is upgrade injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, fuel management.
As far as what our engines can handle, well so far they can handle anything you throw at it. No one has reached the limits of it yet.

Re: Biggest/Safest Twin Turbo Setup for VR4
Its all about the tune for sure.. IMO engine managment is more important then the size of the turbo.. I haven't herd much about the 19t's anyone have a link on them?

Re: Biggest/Safest Twin Turbo Setup for VR4
15g's are not "big" by any means.
They are tiny little turbos.
