Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

Havent have much chance taking pictures of the kit but , I have to say fujimi seems to tool pretty good kits nowadays. Ill get more pictures when i have the chance! Heres some teasers of the body lines. Seems pretty accurate to me , IF ONLY IT HAD THE ENGINE!
Single coat of primer so its easier to see the body work. Sanded off the mold lines , nothing else done to it.

Maybe tmr ill post the interior parts

Re: Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

I am trying so hard to like this bastardized Ferrari, I rally am. I cannot like a Scag front with a Enzoish/F430 rear. It is killing me, but so did the Enzo at first. Above all, this would look so much better with the 20's. Who knows, I will buy one probably.

Sorry bout all that. No engine is not a good thing, but unless you cut the hood, you would never see it anyway. Should be a really easy build.

Can you give us a good side pic with the wheels set in the openings so we can judge the rim size?

Yikes...that roof looks weak! I don't like the mold lines that run through the front bumper cut line.

Re: Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

The body looks more defined than Revell's. Why does Fuji insist on molding in the front holes for license plates...how many modelers have we seen put a front plate on their model....not many at all.

Aggresive looking, you know what I'm saying? It looks like it would bite you if you got to near it. Hope the process of building the model goes smoothly.

Re: Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

I am building the Revell version at the moment. Fujimi version definitely has more accurate side vents. The rear spoiler lip looks a little too large whereas the Revell's is too small. Other than that the rest of the bodyshell looks pretty similar. Fujimi have done a much better job of the front light assemblies compared to the Revell. I really don't like those moulded wing shields and rear cavallino much though but I suppose they are easily removed.

I am really keen to see how this build progresses. Thanks for starting the thread. I'd also be interested in seeing the wheels on the car given the OOB ride height of the Revell is more four by four than ferrari. It will be interesting to see how the rear window area turns out... that is one area where the two manufacturers have taken different approaches.

Re: Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

Thanks for posting more photos, including the wheels. The pentagrams look about the right size but the challenge rims look too small. Or is it just my eyes?

I was considering the Fujimi Challenge wheels (available separately) for my Revell but I don't think I will now.

Good luck with the rest of the build!

It's not your eyes, the Challenge rims for the 599 need to be 20's front and rear; or the same size as the Fujimi rear pentagram wheel. The Fujimi F430 RE's are 19's. That's why they look too small.

Re: Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

Those interior details look a bit faint, as compared to Revell's.

Re: Ferrari Grp Build 599 (Fujimi)

I dunno, the pentagrams almost look better than the Challenge ones. Are those Challenge rims from MSM/Fujimi/SAS or....... Maybe if they were 20's it would fit better. That body sure is growing on me now......... Damn, here comes another kit to order, lol.
