2001 Monte Carlo Tranny Problem

I have been working on an '01 Monte Carlo. The main problem was a harsh shift. The only code that has ever came up was a 730:gear ratio problem.I rebuilt the transmission w/new valvebody & TC.That didn't work.I replaced the tranny with another tranny.Same problem.Same code.I replaced the PCM & had it recalibrated @ the GM dealer.Same problem.Same code.I'm pissed off & don't know what to try next.Any info would be great.

Did you try the pressure control solenoid? It commonly goes faulty and causes harsh shifting.

Have you tried the pass-through connector? I've read of it going bad.

Re: 2001 Monte Carlo Tranny Problem

You have to get a good scanner and see what the RPM's are between the speed sensor on the transmission to the engine RPM. These have to be right(or right as far as what is required/programmed for your car), or you'll get this code. Since you have replaced everything, I would be looking at the wiring, the sensor connection, etc for the speed sensor. You need a scanner hooked it up and see what your getting first and go from there.

I am using a MODIS.I graphed everything out & all looks normal.I was going to try the conector but didn't have the right one.The customer picked up the car & is going to sell it.Oh well.My headache is gone,I hope. Thanks for your input.
