Exclamation Battery keeps dying

I have a 98 DX. My battery keeps dying. The alt. is new as of november, belt is new as of last week, battery new as of last week also. The bolt for the alt broke off and i can;t get the little end out of the hole. I have a bolt in front of the alt holding it somewhat tight, but not enough. It only squeels every once in a while. I don't feel like taking the whole alt out again. Should I so I can fix this problem? Anyway, is this the problem my batt. keeps dying or is it because i have a short, or somewhere it is draining my batt, or my amp?

PLEASE HELP!!

Re: Battery keeps dying

yep, sounds like something is draining your system... could be your aftermarket stereo... disconnect it and see what happens...

Re: Battery keeps dying

2G wire, from batt. to cap, then from cap to amp. Remote wire turns off the amp when the car is off. This morning, even after i disconnected the amp, the battery was dead. Im going to charge it with the batt charger i have, if it dies again, what could the problem be?

Re: Battery keeps dying

wow thats def weird. lol well if it is still dying then it has to be that your alt is not charging it like it should or there is still something on in the car that is draining it. hope you find out the problem. when you drive does your lights dim then get bright again or your neddles on rpm or speed bounce up and down?

Re: Battery keeps dying

Ok guys, i have disconnected everything, from amp, to aftermarket interior lights. The batt is keeping charge now. I need to take my alt out to get the broken piece of bolt out of the hole, and get a new bolt and tighten up the belt. Second, when i wired my capasitor, i fucked up, so it was draining the batt. So....im going to rewire it then hook it up after i fix the alt bolt. YAY! for stupid shit!

Re: Battery keeps dying

if youre gonna hook up a bunch of ricey lights and pointless noise... i suggest a better battery... like an opima battery... those are meant for the extra draw caused by aftermarket accessories.
