'93 Bravada Starts Hard

Hey eveybody, I'm new here and I'm having a problem with my Bravada starting hard. I'll admit that I'm not the greatest at figuring out and fixing cars and I don't have a lot of diagnostic tools to do a lot. Anyway, the Bravada, a 93 with about 203K on it, 4.3 Liter, which I think they all are at year, has been progressively getting harder to start cold. It's started fine once warm but when it's sat overnight it's a pain. When I say hard, like 5 minutes of cranking. Tried many different things to get it to start easier, pumping the gas a little before trying, pumping a lot before trying, cranking it an then letting it sit, all kinds of stuff. When it does start it sort of backfires and then starts. I had it into a shop a while back because it was giving me other problems starting and that was an issue with the rotor and the cap and rotor were replaced, they indicated the plugs and wires were ok, and I know they aren't all that old. The coil isn't all that old either. I haven't done much checking on it yet to see what might be wrong but I was hoping ya'll might be able to give me some pointers on where to go, what to look for to get started or if you've had a similar problem and what the cause was. Don't have any money right now to take it in or I would.

Is the Check Engine light on?
After failing to start, does the exhaust pipe smell like raw gasoline?

Re: '93 Bravada Starts Hard

Check Engine Light has not come on. Haven't noticed the smell, but maybe, it has always started, really hard but has started. Couple more things, the injector and all those lines have been replaced, it's had a new fuel pump put on it but that was a few years back now. It runs fine once it starts. No problems there. Doesn't die out once it's warm or at idle. Just the hard starts when it's been like 6 or hours since it's ran. Starts real easy when it's only sat for just a little bit.

Re: '93 Bravada Starts Hard

The presence of a raw gasoline smell after trying but failing to start points at an ignition or compression/timing problem and the absence a fueling problem.
