Emergency Brake Problems
2002 Chevrolet Silverado 4.3 V6 extended cab
My truck was fitted with air suspension and during the time, the kit required the emergency brake cables to be located. Intead, I had the temporarily "unhooked" and placed to the side. I recently had the airbags relocated and put the cables back onto the hooks. I tried to get a safety inspection and they informed me that it is locking, but not strong enough to prevent the car from inching. Is it from not using the e-brake for almost is year that is causing this problem? any suggetsions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Re: Emergency Brake Problems
i'd say so once you use e-brake you have to keep using them..i'd try to ajust them a little to get more e-brake that's not passing inspection..
good luck as always.... |

Re: Emergency Brake Problems
These E-Brakes are crappy. Mine failed inspection last year too. I was going to replace the brake shoe, but figured out that I could adjust it at the shoe. So I tightened it up and it passed.

Re: Emergency Brake Problems
The Ebrake I will admit isn't the greatest but, after I changed my shoes and adjusted it properly it works great even on the steepest of inclines. 2 Years later and it's still like brand new. I think the previous owner had it rubbing cause there wasn't much left of the old shoe.
