Re: cylinder 3

ask the owner to do a compression test (on all cylinders) and leak-down test on cylinder #3 in question.

how does he know something is wrong with cylinder 3? is it getting spark? fuel?

broken ring land / piston
bad spark plug

Re: cylinder 3

okay well ill tell you what i do know about it. the owner had 2 vr4s one with good motor bad body and one with bad motor and good body so he put the good motor in the good body. supposively it ran fine when it was in the last car. the guy that did the engine swap supposively had no idea what he was doing with this car.

and linebckr: the guy that put the motor in told the owner that there was something wrong with cylinder 3. but he wasnt very clean. and the owner isnt a car guy so it just kinda went over his head im assuming.

but lets say i do a compessions test and it comes up bad. what all could that be?

and talskiny: the reason i was alittle vage was cuz i wasnt sure if vr4s had a history of problems with specific cylinders.

well any ideas or suppestions would help. thanks
