Re: Ford CDs request >>-need help-<<
hi ed, i was going to refer you to fordcds.com but i see they have suspended http transfers and are only doing bittorrent, so are you having a problem with that site? i know the admin of the page, and believe he would be responsive to any requests for help.

Re: Ford CDs request >>-need help-<<
Well the problem is that I'm downloading the Ford CDs at such a slow rate that it will take me forever to finish getting the whole files. I just got involved with torrent downloads just for the purpose of getting this files and don't understand much about it but I believe its because there's not enough people re-seeding the files back.
For example... I have the file 00TRK19.nrg.zip at 75% and cannot get it to complete the download as there are no peers to connect to finish downloading the whole file. |

Re: Ford CDs request >>-need help-<<
I tried the 00TRK19.nrg.zip (Ford Technical Service Publicatons) CD and was not happy with it, ackward to use and not enought info and diagrams for repair procedures.
Well after weeks of slowly downloading I finally got the 2000-2004 Ford Service Manual DVD.iso file from www.fordcds.com thru BitTorrent. I don't have a DVD Burner so I've been trying to run it straight out of my hard drive ( drive F: ). I tried installing and the install goes OK, but when I open it I get a missing volume window telling me that: The specified volume could not be found: '2000-2004 service information' (01) It is expected to be in this locaton: F: When you have loaded the specified volume into this location, press Retry to continue. What file loads this volume? How do I get it to load? |

Re: Ford CDs request >>-need help-<<
The file you downloaded is *.nrg.zip is a Nero disk image of the appropriate .iso file. An .iso file is just an exact disk image of a cd or dvd. I use a program called Daemon tools to mount .iso files like the Ford Cd ones so I do not need to burn the images to DVD or CD media. This program can be found at this link and is easy to install and use. http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/down...tegory&catid=5
The only requirement for this is that you need to download the .ISO files to use this software. feel free to message me with questions. I am looking at downloading all these images and submitting them to torrent again. Will update you as I update each image. |

Re: Ford CDs request >>-need help-<<
I think you can skip the torrent and download via http by right clicking the link for the download, click copy, then paste it into the address bar and remove the torrent extension from the end. The http files are still there, just not linked to. Also, I had trouble with the 00TRK19 one being corrupted recently, a few weeks later I redownloaded it and it seems to work fine now. (ISO)
