03 S10 Blazer 4wd with 1/4 tank fuel misses/stalls
Driving up hill, ran out of fuel immediately at low fuel light. As fuel reaches 1/4 to 1/8 tank, intermittently misses or stalls while driving at different speeds on flat ground, uphill or downhill. When it stalls, restarts after 30+ seconds. Recovers after 20 seconds when misses. Fill fuel tank and no further problems. Replaced air filter. Problem continues. No check engine light. Computer scan shows no problem.

Re: 03 S10 Blazer 4wd with 1/4 tank fuel misses/stalls
Welcome to AF.
Sounds like you are running out of gas. A fuel gauge is only a indicator of fuel in tank. Yours may be a hair off. But no big deal just keep gas in it. How many gallons of gas does it take to fill up the tank after it acts up compared to how big of a tank it has? Always keep a 1/4 tank or more of fuel in your tank. People that do have a lot less fuel pump problems. It is very hard on fuel pumps to run a tank low on fuel.

When it happens, I immediately refuel 3 to 5 gallons.

In the long run it costs a lot less to keep the tank filled up. People that do replace a lot less fuel pumps. Good luck MT

Re: 03 S10 Blazer 4wd with 1/4 tank fuel misses/stalls
Sounds like your sending unit is a little further off than mine.
If I jet much past a quarter I will start having problems while on an incline. I noticed I get 100 miles on each of the top two quarters of a tank (100 miles to 3/4 then another 100 miles to 1/2). Then on the last half Im lucky to get over 50 city or 75 highway. As these guys said already keep it above a quarter. Think of the last quarter as emergency reserve and know that every mile below that youre pushing it. |
